From the swampy farmlands and beach towns of North Carolina, Lipbone Redding migrated to New York City and became a subway musician. Steeped in the musical tradition of soul, boogie and blues, he honed his guitar and people skills amongst the underground caverns of New York. A residency at the tiny but famous Jules Jazz Bistro on historic Saint Mark’s Place was where Lipbone developed his signature jazzy Lip Trombone and unique style of musical storytelling.
Somewhere at the intersection of Robert Plant, Amy Winehouse, and Gretchen Wilson is where you’ll find Tarra Layne. Her gritty, soulful vocals landed her on Season 11 of NBC’s The Voice where she was mentored by Bette Midler and Blake Shelton. She is also a featured singing voice for Mattel’s Ari Hauntington – the ghostly pop star in the 2016 release ‘Welcome To Monster High.’
Showtime is 7pm. $15 table seating, $10 general admission. Arroyo Seco Grill has food, wine, and full bar. Or bring your own bottle for a $10 corkage fee. Pitch ‘n putt golf happens at 5pm for anyone interested. Always a good time and takes about 75 action-packed minutes.
