Sunday, June 24, 2018 - 6:00 PM

Come join us at the Fremont Centre Theatre for a celebration of this great town of South Pasadena, and the completion of the new Brad Colerick CD — Nine Ten Thirty. We’ll gather in the courtyard for a little socializing and nourishment (bring something to eat/drink/share.) Then at 7:00pm, Brad Colerick & the Wreckers will perform a few tunes from the new Nine Ten Thirty CD followed by some special guests and a song circle in the courtyard afterward. So bring an instrument or just a song in your heart. Any and all are welcome.

Wine & Song: 2Ton Bridge; Auni; Jordie & Claire

Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 7:00 PM

2Ton Bridge is the musical persona of singer-songwriter and actor Alexander Wright, who took the name of the landmark connecting his childhood Maryland farm to the main road and the wider world. Similarly, his songs connect their down-to-earth characters – farmers, fishermen, migrants, prisoners – to society as a whole, bridging the gap with a passionate understanding of the struggle for personal dignity. Auni is a mesmerizing songstress from Los Angeles with a bit of an unusual folk band — violin, viola, and string bass. Her warm voice and charming melodies wend their way into listeners’ hearts and heads, offering a stunning kaleidoscope of style and nuance. Raised on Bach and The Beatles, she began writing chamber folk songs as a student in Paris, then returned to LA where she formed a small, bluegrass-inspired band and recorded her debut, self-titled EP. Her folk quartet’s live appeal is built on their vibrant onstage interaction, as well as Auni’s intricate arrangements. We’ll also hear from a couple of favorite Wine & Song guests, Australia’s Jordie Lane & Claire Reynolds.

Wine & Song: Jaime Michaels and Spork & Foon

Wednesday, July 4, 2018 - 7:00 PM

The Roots Music Report summed up Jaime Michaels best — “Much like the folkier side of Paul Simon, who seems a clear mentor, Michaels’ lyrical skills allow him to be reflective and wry in his crafty word-play…The tunes throughout are always clever, mostly upbeat, but never sappy—wine sipping rather than beer drinking music.” Spork & Foon features five highly respected members of the LA songwriting community – singer Aireene Espiritu brings her folk and blues to the project, guitarist Ed Tree fuels his Southern soul with propulsive grooves, keyboardist Marty Axelrod takes things in a humorous direction, bassist Mark Goldberg contributes bluesy originals, and percussionist Debra Dobkin adds her unique brand of R&B funk. Passing lead vocals around the bandstand and giving all they have to each other’s material, Spork & Foon exudes the love and admiration each member holds for the others. Their performance will have you dancing in your seat.
