Wine & Song: Ernest Troost and Jodi Siegel

Wednesday, July 25, 2018 - 7:00 PM

Ernest Troost is an Emmy Award-winning film and television composer as well as an amazing singer-songwriter. A winner at Kerrville Folk Festival’s prestigious New Folk competition, he is a masterful craftsman with a fluid guitar style. He composed and produced two award-winning albums for Judy Collins using the words of Emily Dickinson, Robert Browning, Gertrude Stein and others. The blues are deeply rooted in Jodi Siegel as she was born in Chicago. In the late 80’s she relocated to California and eventually landed in the art community of Laguna Beach. She has shared the stage with many venerable musicians including Albert King, Robben Ford, Kris Kristofferson, David Lindley and countless others. She is a wicked slide guitar player with a bluesy, soulful, and mellow vocal style. Excited to have her at Wine & Song finally after hearing about her for years.

Wine & Song: Johnny "Chops" Richardson and TBA

Wednesday, August 8, 2018 - 7:00 PM

When he isn’t holding down a solid groove playing bass or cranking out hits for the Randy Rogers Band, Johnny “Chops” Richardson is charting his own path through the muddy waters of the roots rock revival. After the 2013 release of his debut solo album, Sticks and Stones, he enlisted the sonic expertise of David Abeyta to craft an album of original blues, country, soul and rock that showcases not only his vocal and songwriting abilities, but an all-star band as well. No Depression magazine said, “From start to finish Sticks and Stones is an entertaining listen… This is the type of album that makes listening to music fun.” His latest release, the eponymous “Johnny Chops & The Razors,” has already begun a groundswell of attention with the debut video, “Believer.” The second single and video, “Taking A Chance On Me” features special guests, the Gospel Starz, a family group who have been singing together in churches and venues across Texas for almost 40 years. He’ll be joined on a few tunes by The Wreckers. Stay tuned for the other act, not yet confirmed.
