Wine & Song: Danika & the Jeb; Ray Bonneville

Wednesday, January 23, 2019 - 7:00 PM

Danika & the Jeb are a dynamic, uplifting duo. Their music is a soulful combination of artfully written songs and powerful musical phrasing. A well written song can embody all emotions of the human existence, and Danika articulates that beautifully with her slightly raspy yet warm voice and truthful lyrics. Jeb Hart can craft a story with six strings. Despite a car accident that left him unable to play for several years. Acclaimed raconteur Ray Bonneville strips his bluesy Americana down to its essentials and steeps it in the humid grooves of the South, creating a compelling poetry of hard living and deep feeling. Often called a “song and groove man,” Bonneville has lived the life of the itinerant artist. From his native Quebec, he moved to Boston at age twelve, where he learned English and picked up piano and guitar. Later, he served in Vietnam and earned a pilot’s license in Colorado before living in Alaska, Seattle, Paris and New Orleans.

He was responsible for writing or co-writing five of the band’s Top 40 hits, including the #1 single “Til I Hear It From You”.  In addition to his career in the Gin Blossoms, Jesse has written, produced and performed with a wide-ranging variety of artists including Stevie Nicks, Judy Collins, The Calling, Los Lobos and The Rembrandts, among others.
